Applications are submitted through Housing Connect at housingconnect.nyc.gov. Each lottery has its own deadline — click any listing below to see the building report and apply directly. First-time applicants need to create a Housing Connect account and complete an AMI eligibility profile.
Income limits are set as a percentage of Area Median Income (AMI) — typically 30%, 50%, 80%, or 130% AMI depending on the unit. Each lottery specifies exact income ranges by household size. Check the individual listing for the units available and their income bands.
Most lotteries take 12–18 months from deadline to lease signing. After the lottery closes, applications are randomly ranked, then reviewed in order. You'll only be contacted if you're selected for an interview — no news is not bad news during this period.
A building report shows HPD open violations, heat and hot water complaints, rent stabilization coverage, and broadband options for a specific address. Winning a lottery in a poorly maintained building is a multi-year commitment — research before you apply. Every listing below links to its full Weverit report.
